House Recommendations

Red Wine

124 Château de Seguin, Bordeaux Superieur 2006  £33.00

Has a solidarity and weight, which belies simple Bordeaux. Generous, easy to drink and will not disappoint Claret lovers.

348 Sablet, Domaine de Piaugier, Montmartel 2004  £26.00

The southern Rhone, often overlooked by the British wine consumer, is taken much more seriously in France. This soft, spicy and concentrated Sablet should encourage us all to look at this region a little harder!

593 Sandford Estate, Victoria, Shiraz 2008 £25.50

A superb wine, drinking well, excellent value.

563 The Stump Jump Grenache, Shiraz, d’Arenberg, South Australia 2007  £25.50

Old bush vine Grenache & Shiraz, which leads to a powerful combination of freshness and upfront fruit with a spicy finish.

564 Valdepenas Gran Reserva Pata-Negra 200£27.50

Not a Rioja (nor the price tag) but a serious wine from south central Spain. This is a corker. Rich nose with warm satisfying fruit, and a Gran Reserva to boot!

303 Chiroubles, Château de Raousset, Remy Passot 2007  £29.00

A wonderful cru from the Beaujolais region made from the gamay grape. Light and fruity, this elegant wine can be married to almost any type of food.

595 Three Gardens, Shiraz-Grenache-Mouvèdre, Langmeil, Barossa 2006  £35.00
Classic Rhône grape assemblage combined with a big generous, spicy Aussie style. Our find of the year so far.

457 Barolo Bava Cocconato 2003  £65.00

A stunning wine, full bodied, well rounded, exquisite aroma – excellent value

237 Aloxe Corton ler Cru Les Chaillots Louis Latour  2001  £46.00

Substantial, yet refined. Top class Red Burgundy.
