Behind The Façade

Hintlesham Hall Hotel offers historical tours, a fascinating insight into the evolution of the Hall.

For example, the façade was built by Richard Powys ca 1720, which conceals the E-shape Elizabethan mansion of which chimneybreasts remain. The drawing room, built ca 1690, has a stunning plasterwork ceiling among the best of late C17 anywhere in East Anglia. The Hall was also commissioned as a Red Cross hospital in World War II and has been a Hotel and restaurant since 1972.

The tour starts at 11am with coffee on arrival and lasts for approximately one and half hours, afterwards you will be treated to an aperitif with chefs homemade canapés, a 3-course lunch with a glass of wine and to finish tea/coffee with petit fours.
